Baseball Recap: Melbourne Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vero Beach, Melbourne was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Sebastian River Sharks by a score of 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Melbourne got a great performance from Jacob Hershey as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave Hershey a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tony Burrows, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Dominic Tamburrino also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Melbourne now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Sebastian River, their record is now 2-6.

Looking ahead, Melbourne will challenge Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sebastian River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
