Basketball Recap: Glen Ridge's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glen Ridge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Verona Hillbillies on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 52-28. The Ridgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Glen Ridge, bringing their record for this year to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.7 points on average over those games. As for Verona, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Glen Ridge will challenge University on Friday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Glen Ridge likes a good challenge. Verona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
