Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only University Christian walked away with it. They put the hurt on the St. Joseph Academy Flashes with a sharp 8-2 victory on Monday. Considering the Christians have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bo Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Kaleb Hammond was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

University Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive contests.

University Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, they moved to 23-8-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

University Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flashes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
