Basketball Recap: Hedgesville Falls Short Against Ranked Martinsburg

On Friday, Hedgesville faced Martinsburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Hedgesville Eagles took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martinsburg Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-36 back in January.

Hedgesville has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Martinsburg, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Coming up, Hedgesville will welcome Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martinsburg, they will face off against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
