Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vista Grande). They enjoyed a cozy 89-74 victory over the Sunnyside Blue Devils on Friday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 70-42 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Sunnyside lost, don't look at Manuel Moreno. Despite the final result, he went 13 of 18 en route to 35 points and five boards. That was a full 47.3% of Sunnyside's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Noriega, who made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points.

Vista Grande is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Sunnyside, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Vista Grande didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-54 victory against Canyon del Oro on the 17th. Sunnyside has also already played their next game, a 77-46 defeat against Casa Grande on the 15th.
