Basketball Recap: North Moore Starts Season with Victory Against Southwestern Randolph

North Moore had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

North Moore got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Parsons out in front who went 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Parsons a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Pennington, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Brayden Chapman and Julian Mosley certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Chapman posted 12 points, while Mosley almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Easton Gravely was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Southwestern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

North Moore wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-22 loss against Northwood on the 6th. As for Southwestern Randolph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-35 defeat against Asheboro on the 6th.
