Volleyball Recap: Central Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Central and Prairie Ridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Rockets fell 2-0 to the Wolves. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13.

Haidyn Schatz paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Schatz got some help from Tiernan Naus and her seven assists. Naus also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Makenna Manganiello, racking up two apiece.

Central's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Prairie Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central will square off against rival Hampshire at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Prairie Ridge is set to take on their familiar foe McHenry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
