Baseball Recap: Chiles Beats Niceville for Their Third Straight Victory

Chiles waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Niceville Eagles by a score of 8-5. That's more bragging rights for the Timberwolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tyler Correa was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Preston Ritchie, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Chiles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Chiles' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Niceville, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles will host Nease at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Niceville, they will take on Crestview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
