Allen takes down Martin in a playoff battle

Recap: Allen Eagles vs. Martin Warriors
The Allen Eagles had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Martin on Friday and snuck past 36-33. The victory was nothing new for Allen as they're now sitting on three straight.
Allen was led to victory by Quinton Hammonds and Micah Ellis. Hammonds rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while Ellis rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
Defeat or not, Martin got some senior leadership from Logan Baresh who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Tristan Bittle who threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
Allen's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Martin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-4.
Allen will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Midland Legacy at 4:00 p.m. Midland Legacy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Allen likes a good challenge. Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
