Softball Recap: Eastern Greene Takes a Loss

Eastern Greene had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it five. They came up short against the Linton-Stockton Miners, falling 19-0. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Miners from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Linton-Stockton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Linton-Stockton's part, they got a massive performance out of Sophie Lower, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Lower has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Sullivan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Eastern Greene has already played their next game, a 23-6 loss against Owen Valley on the 11th. As for Linton-Stockton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Sullivan on the 8th.
