Softball Game Preview: Valley Indians vs. Chillicothe Cavaliers

The Valley Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Chillicothe Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Valley has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Chillicothe will arrive with five straight wins.

Valley lost 22-1 to Wheelersburg on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Chillicothe earned a 7-2 victory over Miami Trace on Wednesday.

CAMBRIANA RITTINGER spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, ALYSSA DUDLEY was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. VIVIAN MORGAN was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Chillicothe's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
