Mountain View piles up the points against Uintah

Recap: Mountain View Bruins vs. Uintah Utes

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Provo, the Mountain View Bruins were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-40 victory over Uintah. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for Mountain View this season.

Leading Mountain View to victory were Simeon Suguturaga and Conner Fairbanks. Suguturaga dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Fairbanks scored 26 points along with six assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Mella, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Several Utes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JJ Jenson, who scored 15 points. Dauson Gardiner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Uintah struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mountain View pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Uintah, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

Mountain View will take on the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Timpanogos is ranked 48th, while the Bruins are ranked 28th). As for Uintah, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Layton Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 20 games.
