Volleyball Recap: Atwater Takes a Loss

Atwater had taken Buhach Colony down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Thunder by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 7th.

Atwater wouldn't go down easily and took Buhach Colony into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 17-15.

Leading Buhach Colony to victory were Lilly Wisdom and Alysson Mendivil. Wisdom had 33 digs and three aces, while Mendivil had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Mendivil has posted since back in September.

Atwater's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Buhach Colony, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Atwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Buhach Colony, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
