Softball Recap: Kent City's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Kent City had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-4 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Lakeview Wildcats as they made off with a 9-3 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

As for Lakeview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games.

For Lakeview's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaileigh Ripley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another was Baylor Syrjala, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Kent City will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lakeview: the pair will be back at it again later today.
