Football Recap: Wapakoneta Starts Season with Win at Home

Wapakoneta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Clay Eagles with a sharp 28-7 victory. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Eagles are ranked 215th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wapakoneta and Clay will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Redskins are set to square off against their familiar foe Celina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clay will challenge rival Southview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
