Football Recap: Union City Skates Past Maple Valley with Ease

Union City won the last time they faced Maple Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Chargers took their contest with ease, bagging a 36-7 win over the Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Union City found their leader in sophomore Braxton Miller, who rushed for nine yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Union City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kenny Case and Miller. Miller got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Union City has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Maple Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Union City is set to square off against their familiar foe Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Maple Valley will challenge rival Reading at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
