While Cherry Valley-Springfield's victory against Milford Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Wildcats on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory got Cherry Valley-Springfield back to even at 1-1. As for Milford Central, they dropped their record down to 3-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Cherry Valley-Springfield and Milford Central will both be playing Schenevus Central the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Patriots will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
