Basketball Recap: Hawken Takes a Loss

Hawken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 58-28 loss at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Patriots. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Hawken saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tess Petersen posted seven points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Liu, who earned six points and five rebounds.

Hawken's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Hawken will host Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lutheran West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
