Softball Recap: Choctaw Central's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Choctaw Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Starkville Yellowjackets 16-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 16-6 victory two weeks ago.

Choctaw Central got a massive performance out of Rayne Killingsworth, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Killingsworth a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Frazier, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Choctaw Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Choctaw Central's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Starkville, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Looking ahead, Choctaw Central will host Northeast Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Lauderdale will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Choctaw Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Starkville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Tupelo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Starkville is facing Tupelo at the right time seeing as Tupelo is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
