Volleyball Recap: Dexter Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hagerman on Tuesday, Dexter came back down to earth. The Demons lost 3-0 to the Quemado Eagles on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Demons have suffered since November 14, 2024.

Kaylonie Nevarez paced Dexter's offense, picking up five kills. Nevarez got some help from Emily DeLaRosa and her 12 assists. Finally, Nevarez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Dexter moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Quemado, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Dexter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Cimarron on the 20th. As for Quemado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Springer on the 20th.
