Baseball Game Preview: Laytonville Warriors vs. Victory Christian Academy Eagles

The Laytonville Warriors will face off against the Victory Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laytonville is looking for their season's first win.

Laytonville came up short against Point Arena last Friday, falling 21-4.

Victory Christian Academy let Grace Christian Academy stack five runs on them in the second inning on Monday but luckily Victory Christian Academy prevailed anyway. The Eagles came out on top against the Lions by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Eddie Lindstrom made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JT Russell, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Victory Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Payton Gentry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Victory Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Victory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Laytonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
