Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sulphur

While Sulphur's victory against Callisburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sulphur Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Callisburg Wildcats 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 19, 2024.

Cash Matlack was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Briar Davenport, who scored two runs and stole Two bases.

The victory (which was Sulphur's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Callisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Coming up, Sulphur will be taking part in a tournament against Whitesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Callisburg, they will square off against Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
