Preview: J.F. Webb Warriors vs. Vance County Vipers
J.F. Webb is 0-3 against Vance County since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The J.F. Webb Warriors will be playing at home against the Vance County Vipers at 7:00 p.m. J.F. Webb will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Vance County is ranked 121st).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-12, which was the final score in J.F. Webb's tilt against South Granville on Friday. J.F. Webb was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Meanwhile, Vance County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-14 win over Carrboro. The result was nothing new for Vance County, who have now won five matches by 33 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vance County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javion Vines-holder, who threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Zahbir Goggins was another key contributor, rushing for 117 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
J.F. Webb has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Vance County, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
