Baseball Recap: Oasis Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Altamonte Christian two weeks ago, Oasis Christian came back down to earth. Oasis Christian came up short against the First Academy Eagles on Monday, falling 19-8. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Landon Gall was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Oasis Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Oasis Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for First Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

When Oasis Christian and First Academy next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Oasis Christian will face off against Canterbury and their six-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, First Academy will try to stop Lake Mary Prep's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
