Baseball Recap: Westmoreland Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Westmoreland and Trousdale County, and Westmoreland kept the tradition alive. Westmoreland never let Trousdale County get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kooper Perry's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Kade Perry and Aaron Freeman did most of the damage at the plate: Kade scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Freeman scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Perry has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Westmoreland pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Trousdale County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Westmoreland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Trousdale County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
