Sunrise Mountain have struggled against Canyon Springs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Canyon Springs, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
