Baseball Recap: Colony Titans vs. Serrano Diamondbacks

Colony took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They put the hurt on the Serrano Diamondbacks with a sharp 15-2 victory.

Steven Gonzales looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Brody Litwin and Ricardo Zazueta did most of the damage at the plate: Litwin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Zazueta scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Barba, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Colony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Serrano only posted an OBP of .259.

Colony wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-1 win against Palmdale on the 19th. As for Serrano, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-4 defeat against Adelanto on the 19th.
