Softball Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Northglenn Norsemen
The Westminster Wolves will square off against the Northglenn Norsemen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Westminster will head into Thursday's contest after some sweet revenge against Mountain Range: Westminster couldn't quite topple Mountain Range on Thursday, but it was still a huge improvement compared to the seven-run defeat they took when the two last played. Northglenn never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Thornton on Monday. They blew past the Trojans 14-6. Considering the Norsemen have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryann Fredrick and Jocelyn Evans were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Fredrick pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Evans struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Fredrick went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Evans scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
