Overton entered their tilt with Union Grove on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 10-5. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kelsey Vaught was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Overton let Anna Perkins and Halle Mayfield run wild. Perkins scored two runs while going 4-for-4, while Mayfield went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Mayfield has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kasha Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Overton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Grove only posted a batting average of .179.

Overton pushed their record up to 15-8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Union Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Overton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
