Baseball Game Preview: Valmeyer Pirates vs. St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots

Valmeyer is 0-10 against St. Louis HomeSchool P since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Pirates will host the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Valmeyer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Valmeyer took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lebanon a 5-0 shutout. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Landon Roy was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Valmeyer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ripken Voelker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. Louis HomeSchool P didn't have quite enough to beat Graves County on Saturday and fell 7-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Will Schark was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Ben Janssen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

St. Louis HomeSchool P's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Valmeyer, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
