Softball Recap: Hector Wildcats vs. Jasper Pirates
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hector). They were the clear victors by a 24-3 margin over the Jasper Pirates on Monday. Considering the Wildcats have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sarena Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hector got a massive performance out of Olivia Biggers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Campbell, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Hector always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .825. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Hector pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
