Baseball Recap: Bartlett Wins Going Away Against Larkin

Bartlett came out on top against Larkin on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Hawks put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 11-1 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the Hawks' eighth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Josh Colaizzi, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Bartlett: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 7-12-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Frost, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bartlett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bartlett's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13-1. As for Larkin, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bartlett will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Royals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
