Basketball Recap: Heritage Leadership Academy Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Bethesda Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Heritage Leadership Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Jacob Peterson. The Fletchers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 victory over the Crusaders on Friday with plenty of help from Peterson, who shot 40% from the field en route to 23 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Huston, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 12 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Heritage Leadership Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Bethesda Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Heritage Leadership Academy and Bethesda Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Fletchers see the court they'll take on Durham Charter at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Bethesda Christian Academy, their break will end when they face C.H. Friend at 6:30 p.m. on December 4.
