Baseball Recap: Abbott Comes Up Short

If Abbott was feeling good fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Bynum on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Abbott Panthers took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mumford Mustangs on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Abbott's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Mumford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Abbott has already played their next game, an 11-5 defeat against Oglesby on the 17th. As for Mumford, they will take on Snook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mumford is facing Snook at the right time seeing as Snook is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
