The Amador Valley Dons will take on the San Ramon Valley Wolves in a tournament on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Amador Valley 3.3, San Ramon Valley 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Amador Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Granada on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Matadors by a score of 3-2. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaylee Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mai Falcone was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. McKenna Charbonneau also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, San Ramon Valley also fell in extra-innings eight innings action on Thursday. They fell just short of Carondelet by a score of 5-4. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
San Ramon Valley also let their pitcher toss all 7.1 innings and she was also dialed-in: Lila McLeod gave up three earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Kayden West made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Amador Valley's record is now 5-5. As for San Ramon Valley, their record now sits at 7-3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Amador Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like San Ramon Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Amador Valley took their victory against San Ramon Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
