Baseball Preview: Leroy Bears vs. Excel Panthers

The Leroy Bears will face off against the Excel Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Enterprise hit Leroy with a nine-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Excel strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on T.R. Miller with a sharp 10-4 win.

Holden Stacey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mattox Dailey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Greyson Nettles was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
