Baseball Recap: Hempstead Comes Up Short

Hempstead easily dispatched Snook last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Hempstead Bobcats fell just short of the Navasota Rattlers by a score of 4-2 on Friday.

Dontae Houston was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Navasota, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hempstead will welcome East Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Navasota, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Palestine at 7:00 p.m.
