Baseball Recap: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Belleview Rattlers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Catholic, Dunnellon was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Belleview Rattlers by a score of 8-4. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rattlers, too.

Dunnellon got a great performance from Ayden Cox as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Cox is becoming a predictor of Dunnellon's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-7 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Wyatt West was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Dylan Donahoe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Dunnellon's record now sits at 3-8. As for Belleview, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunnellon will square off against St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Academy's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Dunnellon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Belleview, they will face off against West Port at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Port has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.91 runs per game on average), something Belleview will no doubt try to take advantage of.
