Eastland dropped their record down to 7-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Morrison Mustangs, falling 8-2. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

As for Morrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Considering they have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Morrison's part, Ayden Meinsma was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. Meinsma also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Morrison is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Meinsma was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meinsma wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Stobbe, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

While Eastland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
