Baseball Recap: Holmen Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Holmen rose to the challenge on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Sun Prairie West Wolves 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Aaron Ploszay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Holmen's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abe Henderson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Holmen's win bumped their record up to 16-9-1. As for Sun Prairie West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Holmen nor Sun Prairie West have any future games scheduled.
