Volleyball Recap: Haverhill Takes a Loss

Haverhill lost against Methuen back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hillies came up short against the Rangers, falling 3-0.

Haverhill took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-18, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Fabio Georges Yepez and Kole Sindoni, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Brady Bergeron and his 11 assists. Nathan Villa controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Methuen was led to victory by Shawn LaDuke and Andrew Cox. LaDuke had six digs, two aces, and one block, while Cox had 13 kills, six digs, and two aces. LaDuke is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. Jayden Cox was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.

Haverhill's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Methuen, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Haverhill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Lawrence on the 15th. As for Methuen, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Lincoln-Sudbury on the 16th.
