Recap: Austin Panthers vs. Andrews Mustangs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Austin Panthers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Andrews on Thursday, falling 40-7. While losing is never fun, Austin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 848th, while Andrews is ranked 409th).
Leading Andrews to victory were Aidyn Olivas and Jaesean DeBouse. Olivas rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while DeBouse rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. DeBouse's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Merqucio Saiz, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Austin now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Andrews, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Andrews also has no future games currently scheduled.
