Volleyball Preview: Eunice Meets Elida

The Eunice Cardinals will take on the Elida Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Eunice challenged Lovington on Thursday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2.

Eunice actually scored more points across those five sets (105-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final set scores came out to 25-19, 13-25, 14-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Elida got the win against Tucumcari on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

While Elida won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-19.

Elida's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Eunice, they are now 2-2, having gone 2-1 since their four-game losing streak ended.
