Baseball Recap: Saguaro Has No Trouble Against Marcos De Niza

Saguaro won against Marcos de Niza on Tuesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Sabercats blew past the Padres 13-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on Tuesday.

Nate Wachinski looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Saguaro got a big performance out of Jake Claver, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave Claver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chasen Niemann, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Saguaro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Saguaro has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Marcos de Niza, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Saguaro will square off against St. Mary's at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sabercats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Marcos de Niza, they will take on Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Padres are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
