Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Pearland

Pearland took a 35-point defeat the last time they faced off against Shadow Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pearland Oilers had just enough and edged the Shadow Creek Sharks out 39-36. Given the Oilers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Sharks are ranked 152nd), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pearland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eliece Perry, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Perry also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Shiloh Grays was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Pearland's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.2 points. As for Shadow Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 23-11.

Pearland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shadow Creek, they will face off against Fort Bend Hightower at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Bend Hightower will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Shadow Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
