Baseball Recap: Ithaca Comes Up Short

Ithaca managed to slip by Evart the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Yellowjackets lost 19-6 to the Wildcats on Wednesday.

Ithaca saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Simcox, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Carsen Shankel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Ithaca has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Evart, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ithaca will head out to face off against Nouvel Catholic Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evart, they will venture away from home to take on Pine River Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
