Volleyball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Covenant Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the North Georgia Christian Academy Knights by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Covenant Christian Academy easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-10.

Their offense was headlined by Isabel McGilberry and Grayson Taylor, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Lauren Grentz and her eight assists. Finally, McKenna King kept Covenant Christian Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Covenant Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. As for North Georgia Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Covenant Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Notre Dame Academy on the 25th. As for North Georgia Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victory Christian at 6:00 p.m. on September 5.
