Despite everything Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has accomplished in his basketball career, Tuesday will likely stand out as a special evening.

Not only did the two-time NBA MVP get his jersey retired at Charlotte Christian (N.C.), the student section at Davidson College was renamed in his honor.

Curry was on hand Tuesday as Charlotte Christian took on Covenant Day (Matthews) and saw jersey No. 20 retired for the Knights. The Splash Brother graduated from Charlotte Christian in 2006 and finished his career as the school's all-time leading scorer.

Curry went on to score over 2,600 points in just three seasons at Davidson before being taken by the Warriors with the No. 7 pick of the 2009 NBA Draft.

The Charlotte Christian program has thrived in the post-Curry era under head coach Shonn Brown. The Knights are 17-5 this season and have won 20 or more games six times since his graduation a decade ago.
