Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer Mustangs vs. Gunn Titans

Pioneer is a perfect 3-0 against Gunn since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will head out to challenge the Titans at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pioneer has three straight victories, Gunn has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Pioneer's win against Westmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Warriors on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Warriors since April 20, 2021.

Meanwhile, Gunn fell victim to Los Gatos and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-0.

Gunn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Min Jae Kim, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Pioneer now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Gunn, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Pioneer beat Gunn 4-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2017. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
