Softball Recap: Mcmichael's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

McMichael had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Southwestern Randolph Cougars 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Phoenix as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lindsay Redmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McMichael saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kora Ingle, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

McMichael pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southwestern Randolph, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4.

McMichael has already played their next contest (against West Wilkes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Southwestern Randolph does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
